Since joining SWIFT Academies in Spring 2018, Longfield has seen its progress figure improve by circa +0.52.

Equally significant is the improvement in attendance of 2.72% over a similar period of time.

The Department for Education Performance Tables categorises school’s progress in five categories – ‘well above average’,’ above average’, ‘average’, ‘below average’ and ‘well below average’

Since joining SWIFT Academies Longfield has moved from ‘well below average’ to ‘average.’ It is very rare for a school to move through two bandings in such a short space of time, a fantastic achievement, which demonstrates the partnership between, staff, pupils, parents and the local community is a strong and effective one.

This, allied to regionally recognised excellent practise in terms of Safeguarding and Welfare and a strongly performing Careers offer means that standards continue to climb and there are many more improvements to come.

At this start of this new decade, Longfield at one of its strongest positions since its formation in 1968.

These are the early days of our journey! We are committed to making Longfield an education and community public service which makes this part of the town an epicentre for aspiration and success.

The improvements to date have been possible due to the dedication and hard work of the children and staff, coupled with the open engagement and efforts of the parent community; we are united by a strong desire for our young people to get the best opportunities moving forward.

By engaging in all school systems as they continue to embed, these results will just be the start of a halcyon period for this building and our community.
